Team Ruby Bridges

Ruby Bridges played a very important part in the Civil Rights Movement. She helped end segregation in schools. She was the first black student at her all-white elementary school which was called William Frantz School. Even though the white students and parents were againgst Ruby going to school with them, Ruby's mother was determined to have her go there to get a better education than she did.

"I now know that experience comes to us for a purpose, and if we follow the guidance of the spirit within us, we will probably find that the purpose is a good one."-Ruby Bridges (Through My Eyes)
